Restoration Advisory Board Public Announcement MCALESTER, OKLAHOMA â McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP), in various previous studies, has identified and implemented environmental restoration on several sites located on the installation. MCAAP has developed an Installation Action Plan describing in detail each restoration site located on the installation. Restoration activities at these sites are based on regulatory directives. Other factors, however, may warrant consideration when determining the remedies for specific sites. One such factor that may be taken into consideration is the concern expressed by public stakeholders. In accordance with the Department of Defense policy, Army installations must promote community involvement by giving the public the opportunity to regularly review progress and participate in dialogue with the decision-makers on MCAAPâs environmental restoration process. MCAAP is soliciting public interest in the formation of a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) concerning restoration activities at MCAAP. Public participation on the RAB will be strictly voluntary. The Army will not provide financial support to the public members for their services nor will members be compensated for work hours lost or time invested. Interested RAB participants should be willing to attend all RAB meetings (which could last between two to four hours each) and be willing to devote ample time to review Army environmental restoration documents within prescribed time frames.
