THE CALLING OF GOD PART 2 OF 3

The Calling of God Part 2 of 3 Last week, we read from scripture (Romans 1:7), we were called to be saints and in 1 Peter 1:15-16, it says, "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." Notice the verse in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God not only forgives us, but He "cleanses us from all unrighteousness." Now when God cleanses us from all unrighteousness, we are holy? You have heard it said, "We sin every day." I cannot speak for everybody, but because Satan puts an evil thought in our mind, that does not necessarily mean we have sinned. Remember Satan put evil thoughts in Jesus mind three times, within a matter of a few minutes (Matt. 4:1- 10). Did Jesus sin? We say He was a perfect, sinless being, when He died. So it is not when Satan puts sinful thoughts in our minds, it when we allow the sinful thoughts to remain, and take root. We desire it. Then it becomes sin. So we do not sin every day, unless we want to and desire it. We invite you to click on our church web site www.mcalestercog7d.com and check out the information you find there.
