The Great Rewarder Part 3 of 4
Life would be so discouraging, without the understanding that God (our Creator) is fully capable of providing for us. Last week we spoke about the "faith of Abraham." and how God rewarded him for believing.
Today, we want to mention another man, by the name of Noah. Not only did Noah believe God (had faith to believe), but he put his faith into works, to build an ark for the saving of his household. Hebrews 11:7, says "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house…"
The people had never seen a flood (see Genesis 2:6). Yet God told Noah a flood was coming, and he should prepare an ark to save his family. Noah did not hesitate, but began the process to build the ark. That is why James mentions in James 2:17, "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." So faith alone is not enough. We must show God by our works, we believe what He says. "God says, "For the wages of sin is death… (Romans 6:23)" So we live an obedient life, to show God we believe what He says. In return, we will be rewarded with eternal life (Rev. 14:12).
