The Watchman Part 1 of 4
As we consider the word "watchman," we might think it refers to a pastor of a church. And you would be right, to some extent. We will consider references today that refer to the leader or pastor. But as we read the new testament, we find we all are watchmen. In everything we do, say or think, Christ should be reflected. As a Christian, we then are a watchman to those who do not know Christ, or are falling short in serving Him.
Ezekiel 33:6-7, says, "So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman to the house of Israel…When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou salt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand."
If we know someone is unsaved, and we have an opportunity to talk to them about the Lord, concerning their lost condition, and fail to do so, we will be held accountable.
James 5:20 "Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death…" This shows how important it is to witness to the unsaved. Their life will be lost if we don’t.
