Protectors of God’s Word Part 3 of 3
Not only is the ministry held responsible for what they teach, but they are held responsible for the protection of the church. In Isaiah 58:1, God tells the ministers to CRY aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression… If what someone is doing, will harm the church, the individual is to be dealt with. Then in 2 Peter 2:1-2, we are told, …there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresiesAnd many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. When one speaks about obedience, we are accused of trying to be saved by our works. But grace does not allow us to live just anyway we desire. It is the fourth commandment they object to, yet can we break any of the other nine and still be saved? One would say no, (which would be true), but if we cannot break the other nine, then how can we break the fourth commandment (Exodus 20:8-11), and still be saved?
In Ephesians 4:16, we are told, From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part… Yes, the ministry is held responsible in protecting the word, but to have harmonious church, each one must support the truth.
