Protector’s of God’s Word
Part 1 of 3
Not being here in person, God has to depend on someone to watch over His Word. Not only to protect it, but to see that it is relayed to the people. In Leviticus 21:12, it speaks about the tribe of Levi and the sanctuary, "…for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him…" God chose the tribe of Levi, to be the protector of the sanctuary and His Word.
Then to the prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 3:17, "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: …and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand."
Now the question is, who is the wicked man? In 1 John 3:4, it tells us that, "…sin is the transgression of the law." They might be kind, they might be patient, but God looks upon them as a wicked person. Those in charge of God’s word must warn the wicked to obey God’s Word or be lost.
