CITY OF McALESTER NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR VARIANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all property owners and residents of the City of McAlester, that a public hearing will be held at a Special McAlester Board of Adjustment Meeting on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 7:30 p.m., or immediately after the adjournment of the Regular Planning Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 28 E. Washington, McAlester, OK. The Applicant is requesting a variance to the Zoning Code, Division 3. Zoning Districts and District Regulations, Subdivision II. Specific Districts, Section 62-256 (d) Area regulations (1) Minimum lot area, for (a) âMinimum will be 6,000 square feet, except as specifically shown for churches; i.e., maximum percentage of possible building coverage, plus required off-street parking for that maximum building coverage, equals the minimum lot area required.â Legal Description: The East-Half of the Southerly 100 feet of Lot 6, in Block 533, City of McAlester, formerly South McAlester, Pittsburg County, State of Oklahoma.
