RESOLUTION # 17-006 FOR SPECIAL GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Haileyville, Oklahoma, this 5th day of June, 2017, as follows: 1. That a special general municipal election be held in said City to fill the unexpired term for the position of Mayor, which term of office expires at 12:00 noon on the second Monday following the general municipal election day in April, 2019. 2. That, in order to qualify for said office, the candidate must be a registered voter of the municipality of Haileyville and a resident of said city for six (6) months prior to filing his declaration of candidacy. 3. that the filing period for such special general election shall be conducted on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the 10th, 11th, and 12th of July 2017, being dates not more that twenty (20) days for the date said resolution is required to be filed with the Secretary of the County Election Board. That any candidate for office may file their declaration of candidacy in the office of the Secretary of Pittsburg County Election Board no earlier than 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 and no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. 4. that said election shall be nonpartisan without a primary and with voting to be at large. The date of the Special General Election shall be on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, being a date not less than forty-five (45) days after the close of the filing period. Be it resolved that absentee ballots will be provided in accordance with State Law. 5. That the precincts for voting at said election are located as follows: 1. Precinct No. 22: Haileyville Civic Center, 200 N. Craig, Ave., Haileyville, OK 74546 2. Precinct No. 34: Hartshorne Catholic Hall, 912 Cherokee, Hartshorne, OK 74546 That said precincts shall be open from 7:00 A.M. C.D.S.T. until 7:00 P.M. C.D.S.T. on election day 6. That a copy of this resolution shall be filed with the Secretary of the Pittsburg County Election Board and the election shall be conducted under the laws applicable to general municipal elections pursuant to Title 11 Okl. Stat. Sec. 16-114 and Title 26 Okl. Stat. 13-101, et seq. the laws applicable to general municipal elections pursuant to Title 11 Okl. Stat. Sec. 16-114 and Title 26 Okl. Stat. 13-101, et seq. 7. That notice of the Special General Election be given as required by Title 11 Okla. Sta.
