CITY OF McALESTER NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR VARIANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all property owners and residents of the City of McAlester, that a public hearing will be held at a Special McAlester Board of Adjustment Meeting on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 28 E. Washington, McAlester, OK. The applicant is requesting a variance to the Sign Code, Division 3. Standards and Specifications, Subdivision VIII. Awnings and Canopies, to Section 62-913 Minimum Height (b) âAll canopies shall be constructed and erected so that the lowest portion thereof shall be not less than nine feet above the level of the sidewalk or public thoroughfareâ, to Section 62-914 General setback requirements âNo⦠canopy shall be permitted to extend beyond a point two feet inside the curblineâ, and to Section 62-915 Width ââ¦No canopy shall be permitted to exceed eight feet in widthâ.
