Abba Father Part 2 of 4
In addressing our creator in heaven, He is referred to by many different names. One of them is “Abba Father.” A name of endearment. Last week, we found it as a name of “Comfort.” This week, we find, “He is a welcoming Father.”
Knowing this, Paul tells us in Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace…” Boldly means, we can come “with confidence.” Whatever our need, we can have confidence that we can come to our Father” and He will always be there, to listen, to grant a helping hand, to give a comforting word. He will never fail, or turn His back to us, but will understand with a loving heart.
Peter gives us a wonderful thought in 1 Peter 1:17, “And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons…” To our Abba Father, it makes no difference, whether we are rich or poor, old or young, educated or uneducated. He is no respecter of persons.
Paul also mentions in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “We are troubled on every side…Persecuted, but not forsaken…” Paul is telling us, our Father has not forsaken even one of His own. He is one we can always, constantly, depend on. Never, will He fail us.
