You Can Be Good Or Bad In Any Kind Of Environment. Part i of 4
We assume it is human nature to feel, if we were always in the right kind of environment, we could always live a Christian life. Yet Jesus did not seem to indicate this, as He was praying to His Father in John 17:15, I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. Jesus was not concerned about their environment. His main concern was about their spiritual condition.
But we do seem to blame others, or the environment we are living in. This is well expressed in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve made the bad decision to follow the suggestion of Satan. Notice what they said in Genesis 3:12-13, when they were confronted by God. Adam said, "…The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat." When God confronted the woman, "…The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."
Instead of accepting responsibility, they tried to blame someone else. However, we can blame no one but ourselves. It isn’t the environment, or someone else’s fault, but our own weakness. We will look further and see what the scriptures has to say about it. Click on our church web site
