Do You Know Me? Part 4 of 4
Some may feel the above title is not important. If you believe Jesus died for our sins, was resurrected, and is alive today, that is all that matters. But it is more than that. God is a holy God, and He wants us to live a holy life (1 Peter 1:16), The only way that can be possible (through Christ), is by obedience.
1 John 2:4 expresses a very unusual declaration, "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." If we really know Him, we know He is a God that expects His followers to obey Him. Yet most of the religious world seem to regard the seventh day (Ex. 20:8-11) as immaterial. God blessed and sanctified the seventh day (Saturday) above the others. We must recognize and keep the day that He has set aside for us to keep holy.
If we can disregard or change the fourth commandment, how many other commandments can we choose to disregard or change?
Man has been told, Christ changed the day, yet we do not find such a remark in the Bible. The choice is for man to decide.
