The Great Rewarder Part 2 of 4
What would man do, if we did not have the "Great Rewarder, our creator God." Without Him, we would have no one we could depend on. The Bible tells us in James 1:17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…" We receive so much, yet we sometimes fail to thank God for what He has and does give us.
Let us notice some of the reasons God desires to reward us. First of all, for our faith in Him. Notice Romans 4:16-21, where it speaks about Abraham’s faith. Even though Abraham and his wife were past child bearing age, Abraham still believed the promise of God. In Romans 4:20, it says, "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith…being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform."
And because Abraham believed God, God fulfilled His promise, and today, we see that Abraham did become not only the father of nations, but the father of the faithful.
These things were recorded for our learning. God did not fail Abraham, neither will He fail us, if we too, remain faithful.
